In 1991, my wife Michele and I opened Tin Pan Alley, a small indie music store in Hamburg, PA. It was a fun and busy time and we met some great people. Occasionally someone will stop us and say "Didn't you have the record in town? I used to come in there. I loved that store.". After they'd leave I'd ask who it was and Michele would say he or she was 12 years old when they came in.
The mid 90s brought the big box stores like Barnes & Nobles, Best Buy. They filled their stores to the ceiling with domestic and imported CD for prices below our costs. It was very tough to compete. The store opened in 1991 and closed in 1997.
Tin Pan Alley sold used vinyl and we saw many collectors and dealers. New vinyl was still being released and we stocked the store with what we could get. We sold some but vinyl "was on the way out". Maybe we were ahead of our time....
Vinyl interest has made a resurgence and its time to pull out that old new stock. I've started posting vinyl we have for sale. Most titles will be the one copy we saved. This was the 90s so there will be some Grunge and Industrial titles and much more.
Unless specifically noted all vinyl are the original 90s pressings. All have been stored in record boxes in a clean dry environment not seeing the light of day since their release.
Imported (non USA) vinyl almost always was not polywrap sealed. Upon purchase and storage each record was protected in a plastic sleeve.
I've made some short comments about condition issues, limited numbering, colored vinyl or other research. In general, I can tell you these records were never played, the covers are still glossy, and the ink still smells fresh.
Discogs.com provides very detailed infomation about releases, domestic or import. I've tried to find the exact direct link for each record. Click the icon.
I only have 1 copy of almost all titles listed. I'd be happy to answer any requests and will provide pictures if needed.
If a record is not sealed I will inspect it for any physical issues before sale but can not check sealed vinyl other than the cover. I assure you I don't want to sell you a bad record.
I have been shipping records in the United States and abroad.
I am accepting PayPal and I will provide you with the account only after I have everything boxed up and ready to go.
If you'd like to buy something please contact me. I will take a picture of the record(s) you are interested in and email it to you.
