Wear your Helmet!

And Maybe Elbow Pads

Tue May 24, 2016

A few weeks ago my wife and I were riding our mountain bikes around Blue Marsh Lake. It was quite a workout. Ten miles into the ride I flipped over the handle bars. My ribs and elbow slammed into the ground. Michele arrived five seconds later, smiling, saying "I heard you moaning. Are you OK". I replied with some form of painful utterances. After a few minutes I got up and tried pedaling, uh..., coasting, uh..., walking to next next boat ramp to have someone pick us up.

Luckly, the bike is OK since I broke its fall. I, on the other hand, bruised some ribs, sprained a wrist and broke a bone near the elbow.

Since then I've been in a brace and doing some stretches to get my arm in guitar playing shape again.

So I guess now its helmet, elbow pads, shoulder pads, wrist braces, gloves, knee pads, and air bags.

In June I should be able to get back to some gigs but right now it's tough to form some chords.
