Had the honor of performing at the famous Lehigh listing room, Godfrey Daniels. Something different for me, they don't have a signup sheet, rather you pick a scrabble letter and they alphabetically. After pulling a 'K' we were told participation was heavy tonight and we can do two songs.
There were many talented players and songwriters. One older songwriter sang an original song acapella. Very much old-timey and traditional about coal miners. It was an emotional song and one that should be recorded.
I decided I'd do my gospel/blues tune inspired by Chris Smither's clawhammer blue styling figuring it would be impressive from a skill level and it paid off. I was asked to return and get more involved with the Godfrey Daniels music scene. I'm very happy and excited to do that.
Pretty sure I'll be returning for the Nov 29th open mic.
